List Of Cities And Regencies In East Java Province


As already mentioned in my article entitled "List Of Province In Indonesia" that the province of East Java is divided into 38 cities and regencies. Where 29 of them are regencies and the remaining 8 are cities. In this article, I will give you the list of those cities and regencies existing in East Java province. But, let me tell you first what is the differences between city and regency. Briefly, the differences between cities and regencies can be seen from the life of the residents, where the residents of a city are usually more develop than the resident of a regency. Other than that, there are still some point that becomes differences between city and regency.

Here are the difference between city and regency that I present in table form:

That's some difference between city and regency. Now, we go back to the main point, "List of cities and regencies in East Java province". Here it is :

1. Bangkalan Regency 

Bangkalan Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Bangkalan district. Bangkalan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Makmun Ibnu Fuad. Bangkalan Regency has an area of 1001 km2 which divided into 18 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 18 districts are then divided again into 281 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

2. Banyuwangi Regency 

Banyuwangi Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Banyuwangi district. Banyuwangi Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Abdullah Azwar Anas. Banyuwangi Regency has an area of 5782 km2 which divided into 24 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 24 districts are then divided again into 217 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

3. Blitar Regency 

Blitar Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Kanigoro district. Blitar Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Rijanto. Blitar Regency has an area of 1336 km2 which divided into 22 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 22 districts are then divided again into 248 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

4. Bojonegoro Regency 

Bojonegoro Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Bojonegoro district. Bojonegoro Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Suyoto. Bojonegoro Regency has an area of 2198 km2 which divided into 27 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 27 districts are then divided again into 430 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

5. Bondowoso Regency 

Bondowoso Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Bondowoso district. Bondowoso Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Amin Said Husni. Bondowoso Regency has an area of 1525 km2 which divided into 20 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 20 districts are then divided again into 201 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

6. Gresik Regency 

Gresik Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Gresik district. Gresik Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Sambali Halim Radianto. Gresik Regency has an area of 1191 km2 which divided into 18 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 18 districts are then divided again into 356 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

7. Jember Regency 

Jember Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Jember district. Jember Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Faida. Jember Regency has an area of 2142 km2 which divided into 31 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 31 districts are then divided again into 244 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

8. Jombang Regency 

Jombang Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Jombang district. Jombang Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Nyono Suhari Wihandoko. Jombang Regency has an area of 1115 km2 which divided into 21 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 21 districts are then divided again into 304 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

9. Kediri Regency 

Kediri Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Ngasem district. Kediri Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Haryanti Sutrisno. Kediri Regency has an area of 1386 km2 which divided into 26 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 26 districts are then divided again into 344 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

10. Lamongan Regency 

Lamongan Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Lamongan district. Lamongan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Fadeli. Lamongan Regency has an area of 1782 km2 which divided into 27 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 27 districts are then divided again into 474 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

11. Lumajang Regency 

Lumajang Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Lumajang district. Lumajang Regency is currently led by a regent which name is As'at Malik. Lumajang Regency has an area of 1790 km2 which divided into 21 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 21 districts are then divided again into 202 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

12. Madiun Regency 

Madiun Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Caruban district. Madiun Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Muhtarom. Madiun regency has an area of 1037 km2 which divided into 15 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 15 districts are then divided again into 206 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

13. Magetan Regency 

Magetan Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Magetan district. Magetan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Sumantri. Magetan Regency has an area of 688 km2 which divided into 18 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 18 districts are then divided again into 235 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

14. Malang Regency 

Malang Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Kepanjen district. Malang Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Rendra Kresna. Malang regency has an area of 3530 km2 which divided into 33 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 33 districts are then divided again into 389 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

15. Mojokerto Regency 

Mojokerto Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Mojosari district. Mojokerto Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Mustofa Kamal Pasa. Mojokerto regency has an area of 717 km2 which divided into 18 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 18 districts are then divided again into 304 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

16. Nganjuk Regency 

Nganjuk Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Nganjuk district. Nganjuk Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Abdul Wahid Badrus. Nganjuk Regency has an area of 1224 km2 which divided into 20 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 20 districts are then divided again into 284 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

17. Pacitan Regency 

Pacitan Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Pacitan district. Pacitan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Indartato. Pacitan Regency has an area of 1389 km2 which divided into 12 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 12 districts are then divided again into 164 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

18. Ngawi Regency 

Ngawi Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Ngawi district. Ngawi Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Budi Sulystiono. Ngawi has an area of 1295 km2 which divided into 19 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 19 districts are then divided again into 217 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

19. Pamekasan Regency 

Pamekasan Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Pamekasan district. Pamekasan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Halil Asyari. Pamekasan Regency has an area of 792 km2 which divided into 13 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 13 districts are then divided again into 189 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

20. Pasuruan Regency 

Pasuruan Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Bangil district. Pasuruan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Irsyad Yusuf. Pasuruan Regency has an area of 1474 km2 which divided into 24 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 24 districts are then divided again into 365 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

21. Ponorogo Regency 

Punorogo Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Ponorogo district. Punorogo Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Ipong Muchlissoni. Ponorogo Regency has an area of 1034 km2 which divided into 21 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 21 districts are then divided again into 303 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

22. Probolinggo Regency 

Probolinggo Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Kraksaan district. Probolinggo Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Puput Tantriana Sari. Probolinggo Regency has an area of 1696 km2 which divided into 24 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 24 districts are then divided again into 330 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

23. Sampang Regency 

Sampang Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Sampang district. Sampang Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Fadhilah Budiono. Sampang Regency has an area of 1233 km2 which divided into 14 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 14 districts are then divided again into 186 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

24. Sidoarjo Regency 

Sidoarjo Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Sidoarjo district. Sidoarjo Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Saiful Ilah. Sidoarjo Regency has an area of 634 km2 which divided into 18 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 18 districts are then divided again into 353 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

25. Situbondo Regency 

Situbondo Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Situbondo district. Situbondo Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Dadang Wigiarto. Situbondo Regency has an area of 1669 km2 which divided into 17 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 17 districts are then divided again into 136 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

26. Sumenep Regency 

Sumenep Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Sumenep district. Sumenep Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Abuya Busyro Karim. Sumenep Regency has an area of 1998 km2 which divided into 27 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 27 districts are then divided again into 332 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

27. Trenggalek Regency 

Trenggalek Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Trenggalek district. Trenggalek Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Emil Dardak. Trenggalek Regency has an area of 1147 km2 which divided into 14 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 14 districts are then divided again into 157 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

28. Tuban Regency 

Tuban Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Tuban district. Tuban Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Fathul Huda. Tuban Regency has an area of 1834 km2 which divided into 20 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 20 districts are then divided again into 328 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

29. Tulungagung Regency 

Tulungagung Regency is one of regencies in East Java province whose its central goverment located in Tulungagung district. Tulungagung Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Syahri Mulyo. Tulungagung Regency has an area of 1055 km2 which divided into 19 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 19 districts are then divided again into 271 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

30. Batu City

Batu City is one of cities in East Java province. Batu City is currently led by a mayor which name is Dewanti Rumpoko. Batu City has an area of 136,74 km2 which divided into 3 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 3 districts are then divided again into 24 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

31. Blitar City

Blitar City is one of cities in East Java province. Blitar City is currently led by a mayor which name is Samanhudi Anwar. Blitar City has an area of 32,57 km2 which divided into 3 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 3 districts are then divided again into 21 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

32. Kediri City

Kediri City is one of cities in East Java province. Kediri City is currently led by a mayor which name is Abdullah Abu Bakar. Kediri City has an area of 63,4 km2 which divided into 3 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 3 districts are then divided again into 46 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

33. Madiun City

Madiun City is one of cities in East Java province. Madiun City is currently led by a mayor which name is Sugeng Rismiyanto. Madiun City has an area of 33,29 km2 which divided into 3 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 3 districts are then divided again into 27 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

34. Malang City

Malang City is one of cities in East Java province. Malang City is currently led by a mayor which name is Mochammad Anton. Malang City has an area of 145,28 km2 which divided into 5 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 5 districts are then divided again into 57 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

35. Mojokerto City

Mojokerto City is one of cities in East Java province. Mojokerto City is currently led by a mayor which name is Mas'ud Yunus. Mojokerto City has an area of 16,47 km2 which divided into 2 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 2 districts are then divided again into 18 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

36. Pasuruan City

Pasuruan City is one of cities in East Java province. Pasuruan City is currently led by a mayor which name is Setiyono. Pasuruan City has an area of 35,29 km2 which divided into 4 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 4 districts are then divided again into 34 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

37. Probolinggo City

Probolinggo City is one of cities in East Java province. Probolinggo City is currently led by a mayor which name is Rukmini Buchori. Probolinggo City has an area of 56,67 km2 which divided into 5 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 5 districts are then divided again into 34 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

38. Surabaya City

Surabaya City is one of cities in East Java province. Surabaya City is currently led by a mayor which name is Tri Rismaharini. Surabaya City has an area of 350,54 km2 which divided into 31 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 31 districts are then divided again into 163 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
