As already mentioned in my article entitled "List Of Province In Indonesia" that the province of Central Java is divided into 35 cities and regencies. Where 29 of them are regencies and the remaining 6 are cities. In this article, I will give you the list of those cities and regencies existing in Central Java province. But, let me tell you first what is the differences between city and regency. Briefly, the differences between cities and regencies can be seen from the life of the residents, where the residents of a city are usually more develop than the resident of a regency. Other than that, there are still some point that becomes differences between city and regency.
Here are the difference between city and regency that I present in table form:

1. Banjarnegara Regency
Banjarnegara Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Banjarnegara district. Banjarnegara Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Budhi Sawarno. Banjarnegara Regency has an area of 1096 km2 which divided into 20 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 20 districts are then divided again into 278 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
2. Banyumas Regency
Banyumas Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Purwokerto district. Banyumas Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Achmad Husein. Banyumas Regency has an area of 1329 km2 which divided into 27 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 27 districts are then divided again into 331 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
3. Batang Regency
Batang Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Batang district. Batang Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Wihaji. Batang Regency has an area of 788 km2 which divided into 15 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 15 districts are then divided again into 248 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
4. Blora Regency
Blora Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Blora district. Blora Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Djoko Nugroho. Blora Regency has an area of 1820 km2 which divided into 16 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 16 districts are then divided again into 295 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
5. Boyolali Regency
Boyolali Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Boyolali district. Boyolali Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Seno Samodro. Boyolali Regency has an area of 1015 km2 which divided into 19 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 19 districts are then divided again into 267 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
6. Brebes Regency
Brebes Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Brebes district. Brebes Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Idza Priyanti. Brebes Regency has an area of 1902 km2 which divided into 17 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 17districts are then divided again into 297 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
7. Cilacap Regency
Cilacap Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Cilacap district. Cilacap Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Tatto Suwarto Pamuji. Cilacap Regency has an area of 2142 km2 which divided into 24 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 24 districts are then divided again into 284 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
8. Demak Regency
Demak Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Demak district. Demak Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Moh. Natsir. Demak Regency has an area of 1149 km2 which divided into 14 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 14 districts are then divided again into 249 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
9. Grobogan Regency
Grobogan Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Purwodadi district. Grobogan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Sri Sumarni. Grobogan Regency has an area of 1975 km2 which divided into 19 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 19 districts are then divided again into 280 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
10. Jepara Regency
Jepara Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Jepara district. Jepara Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Ahmad Marzuki. Jepara Regency has an area of 1004 km2 which divided into 16 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 16 districts are then divided again into 195 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
11. Karanganayar Regency
Karanganyar Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Karanganyar district. Karanganyar Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Juliyatmono. Karanganyar Regency has an area of 800 km2 which divided into 17 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 17 districts are then divided again into 177 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
12. Kebumen Regency
Kebumen Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Kebumen district. Kebumen Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Mohammad Yahya Fuad. Kebumen regency has an area of 1281 km2 which divided into 26 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 26 districts are then divided again into 460 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
13. Kendal Regency
Kendal Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Kendal district. Kendal Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Mirna Annisa. Kendal Regency has an area of 1002 km2 which divided into 20 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 20 districts are then divided again into 286 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
14. Klaten Regency
Klaten Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Klaten district. Klaten Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Sri Mulyani. Klaten regency has an area of 655 km2 which divided into 26 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 26 districts are then divided again into 401 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
15. Kudus Regency
Kudus Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Kudus district. Kudus Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Musthofa. Kudus regency has an area of 425 km2 which divided into 9 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 9 districts are then divided again into 132 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
16. Magelang Regency
Magelang Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Mungkid district. Magelang Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Zaenal Arifin. Magelang Regency has an area of 1085 km2 which divided into 21 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 21 districts are then divided again into 372 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
17. Pati Regency
Pati Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Pati district. Pati Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Haryanto. Pati Regency has an area of 1419 km2 which divided into 21 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 21 districts are then divided again into 406 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
18. Pekalongan Regency
Pekalongan Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Kajen. Pekalongan Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Asip Kholbihi. 19. Pemalang Regency
Pemalang Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Pemalang district. Pemalang Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Junaedi. 20. Purbalingga Regency
Purbalingga Regency is one of regencies in Central Java province whose its central goverment located in Purbalingga district. Purbalingga Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Tasdi. 32. Salatiga City
Salatiga City is one of cities in Central Java province. Salatiga City is currently led by a mayor which name is Yulianto. 33. Semarang City
Semarang City is one of cities in Central Java province. Semarang City is currently led by a mayor which name is Hendrar Prihadi. 34. Surakarta City
Surakarta City is one of cities in Central Java province. Surakarta City is currently led by a mayor which name is F.X. Hadi Rudyatmo. Surakarta City has an area of 44 km2 which divided into 5 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 5 districts are then divided again into 51 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
