List Of Cities And Regencies In Special Region Of Yogyakarta Province

As already mentioned in my article entitled "List Of Province In Indonesia" that the Special Region Of Yogyakarta Province is divided into 5 cities and regencies. Where 4 of them are regencies and the remaining 1 is city. In this article, I will give you the list of those city and regencies existing in Special Region Of Yogyakarta province. But, let me tell you first what is the differences between city and regency. Briefly, the differences between cities and regencies can be seen from the life of the residents, where the residents of a city are usually more develop than the resident of a regency. Other than that, there are still some point that becomes differences between city and regency.

Here are the difference between city and regency that I present in table form:

1. Bantul Regency 

Bantul Regency is one of regencies in Special Region Of Yogyakarta province whose its central goverment located in Bantul district. Bantul Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Suharsono. Bantul Regency has an area of 506,86 km² which divided into 17 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 17 districts are then divided again into 75 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

2. Gunungkidul Regency 

Gunungkidul Regency is one of regencies in Special Region Of Yogyakarta province whose its central goverment located in Wonosari district. Gunungkidul Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Badingah. Gunungkidul Regency has an area of 1485 km² which divided into 18 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 18 districts are then divided again into 144 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

3. Kulon Progo Regency 

Kulon Progo Regency is one of regencies in Special Region Of Yogyakarta province whose its central goverment located in Wates district. Kulon Progo Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Hasto Wardoyo. Kulon Progo Regency has an area of 586,27 km² which divided into 12 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 12 districts are then divided again into 88 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

4. Sleman Regency 

Sleman Regency is one of regencies in Special Region Of Yogyakarta province whose its central goverment located in Sleman District. Sleman Regency is currently led by a regent which name is Sri Purnomo. Sleman Regency has an area of 574,82 km² which divided into 17 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 17 districts are then divided again into 86 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").

5. Yogyakarta City

Yogyakarta City is the only one city in Special Region Of Yogyakarta province. Yogyakarta City is currently led by a mayor which name is Haryadi Suyuti. Yogyakarta City has an area of 32,5 km² which divided into 14 districts (we call it "kecamatan"). Those 14 districts are then divided again into 45 sub-district (we call it "kelurahan/desa").
