Hello everyone, in this first post of this blog, I want to introduce you to my lovely country, Indonesia. Well, I give title to this article "Introduction To Indonesia Country". I think there are lot people in this world who less knowledge about Indonesia, or even they haven't heard about "Indonesia" before. Some days ago, I chat in facebook with one of my friend, he is from India, I ask him what he know about Indonesia. And you know what? He doesn't know anything about Indonesia, even for the small thing like "what is the capital city of Indonesia?", he can't answer it. What a pity, since India and Indonesia is two country that both come from asia (not too far away) but many people there in India don't know anything about Indonesia. So, In this article, I will provide you some basic knowledge or information about Indonesia, you can get further information about Indonesia on every post at this blog later. With every article in this blog , I hope can open your eyes about Indonesia and can give you knowledge and information about Indonesia.

1. The World's Largerst Archipelago Country
Indonesia (The Republic of Indonesia) is the world's largest archipelago country composed of 17,504 islands (including 9,634 unnamed islands and 6,000 uninhabited islands). Here are 3 of the 6 largest islands in the world, namely: Kalimantan (the third largest island in the world with an area of 539,460 km2), Sumatra (473,606 km2) and Papua (421,981 km2)
2. Jakarta Is The Capital City Of Indonesia
Jakarta is a metropolitan city located in Java (one of the island name in Indonesia) which became the capital city of Indonesia. Jakarta is located on the northwest coast of Java Island. before the name "Jakarta" was used, the city of Jakarta at that time was named Sunda Kelapa, Jayakarta and Batavia. In the international world Jakarta also has the nickname J-Town, or more popularly The Big Durian because it is considered comparable city of New York City (Big Apple) in Indonesia.
3. The World's Largest Maritime Country
Maritime country is a country that most of the territory is the waters which is the land area is smaller than the sea area. Indonesia is the largest maritime country in the world with 93,000 km2 of waters and a coastline of about 81,000 km2 or almost 25% of the world's coastline.
4. Country With Many Religions Embraced By Its Residents
Every single person in Indonesia is free to choose their choice about what religion they want to embrace. This is stipulated in the law applicable in Indonesia that "every citizen shall be free to choose and practice their belief" and "to guarantee all freedom of worship, according to their religion or their belief". But, officially, the only recognized religion in Indonesia is Islam, Protestant, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist and Confucian. Although in Indonesia there are many religions adopted by the citizens, but we the Indonesian people can live in peace, this is caused by the attitude of inter-religious tolerance applied by every resident in Indonesia
5. Various Regional (Traditional) Languages
Although understood and spoken by over 90% of Indonesians, Bahasa Indonesia is not the mother tongue for most of its speakers. Most Indonesians use one of 748 languages in Indonesia as their mother tongue. Indonesian speakers often use colloquial and / or mixed versions with other Malay dialects or their mother tongue.
6. The First Country Which Born After The End Of World War II
The Republic of Indonesia was the first country born after the end of World War II in 1945. Indonesia is the 70th oldest country in the world.
7. Rupiah Is The Currency Used In Indonesia
Rupiah, or so-called IDR in the international world, is the official currency used in Indonesia as a valid payment instrument. This currency is printed, issued and regulated by the Indonesian central bank, Bank Indonesia.
8. There Are 34 Provinces, 415 Regencies, 1 Administration Regency, 93 Cities And 5 Administration Cities
With a large enough area, Indonesia is divided into 34 provinces. In all 34 provinces, there are 415 regencies, 1 administration regency, 93 cities and 5 administration city. Administration Regency and Administration Cities are available only in the provinces of DKI Jakarta.

9. One Of The Countries Passed By The Equator
The equator is a line of imagination drawn in the middle of the planet between two poles and parallel to the planet's rotational shaft. This equatorial line divides the Earth into two parts of the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere. There are several cities in Indonesia which are passed by the equator including Bonjol city and Pontianak. There are also several islands in Indonesia that are passed by the equator, such as Sumatra island, lingga island and Kalimantan island.
10. There Are Only Two Seasons In Indonesia
As the result of Indonesia passed by the equator is makes Indonesia get long sunshine every year and cause the season in Indonesia only dry season and rainy season.
11. "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" Is Indonesia's National Moto
Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is the motto or slogan of Indonesian people written on the symbol of the Indonesian state, Garuda Pancasila. This phrase is come from Old Javanese which means "Unity In Diversity" or we can also define it as "Different but still one unity". This motto is not only an 'ordinary' slogan, but it is implemented in the daily life of Indonesian people. They can live together in different cultures, ethnics and religions.
12. Led By A President
Indonesia is a country that uses a presidential system, which means that this country is led by a president. Because Indonesia is a democracy country, the presidency is determined by the resident through the general election every 5 years.
13. Soekarno Was The First President In Indonesia
Soekarno was the first president in Indonesia who become president since Indonesian independence until 1967 which was subsequently replaced by Soeharto. He is the proclaimer of Indonesian independence together with his collegue, Moh. Hatta, who later became the first vice president in Indonesia.
